Backing Baines

Get involved

Municipal races are won on lawns and doorsteps

No party machine, no big advertising budget. Just neighbours telling neighbours. Here are the three things that genuinely move the needle.

The lawn sign

Printed in two sizes: 18″ × 24″ and 24″ × 32″. Campaign pins are available too — tick the box on the form.

On the road

The I’m Backing Baines decal, out around town.

Why it works

A lawn sign is not advertising. It is a neighbour vouching for someone. In a municipal race where most people decide in the last two weeks, seeing a name on a street you trust is often the whole decision.

Signs go up once the Town’s sign period opens and come down within the required window after voting day — we handle installation and removal, and we place them only where the property owner or tenant has said yes.

Request a lawn sign

Collingwood addresses only. We will confirm before anyone comes by.

Your details are used only to place and retrieve the sign, and are not shared or sold.

Volunteer

An hour is useful. Ten is a gift. Tell us what suits you.

What volunteering looks like

Nobody gets thrown in the deep end

Most volunteers do one shift, with someone experienced, on a street they already know.

Door knocking

Two hours, in pairs, with a route and a script you are free to ignore. Christopher does most doors himself — you are company and a second set of ears.

Literature drops

Your own street, on your own schedule. No conversations required.

Signs

A truck, a mallet, and a list of addresses that already said yes. Also the takedown afterwards, which is where help is scarcest.

Coffee meet-ups

Invite six neighbours to your kitchen. Christopher brings the questions, not a speech.

Voting day drives

For neighbours who want to vote and need a lift to do it.

Free, and surprisingly effective

Tell Just five people

Municipal turnout is low and undecided voters are everywhere. A short message from someone they know beats any sign on any lawn.
